One simple product is almost entirely responsible for a huge boost in my blog traffic at EzArmyPoints. The months before I installed it, my traffic was slow and steady. I hadn’t seen any big gains and didn’t expect to either. I was content with my small but steady growth, until I saw the potential my blog had the whole time!
Then, like some sort of magic, it jumped to over 12,000. I can honestly say that it is all due to installing the Genesis Framework on April 27, 2014. I can only imagine what my numbers will look like in June!
My Magic Wand to Increase Blog Traffic
My Decision to Buy the Genesis Framework
I spent months agonizing over whether to spend the money on Genesis. I’m kind of a tightwad. I read reviews and recommendations from all the top bloggers. Specifically, my blogging idol, Darren Rowse from ProBlogger. He runs his sites on the Genesis Framework and he is one of the highest earning bloggers. So, I finally took the plunge and spent the $60 it cost.
Increase Blog Traffic & Google Adsense Income
I immediately downloaded and installed it and went about everything I normally do. I only took notice to a change when I checked my Adsense earning a few days after the installation. I figured my visitors just got click-happy. A few more days went by, and I could see a jump in my blog traffic; but I chalked it up to some kind of event in the Army community that boosted interest.
You can see in the screen shot above that there was a significant increase in pages views and Adsense earnings.
The average earnings per month for January through April are (54.38 + 50.73 + 101.70 + 56.87) / 4 = $65.92.
The average earnings per month for May through August are (101.92 + 130.99 + 132.05 + 112.70) / 4 = $119.42.
This is an increase of 81.16% on average, comparing the 4 months prior to installing the Genesis Framework, and the 4 months after.
What Caused My Increase in Blog Traffic?
When the days of more traffic turned into weeks, I started looking at the change in my traffic. There was an obvious difference in my blog traffic that couldn’t be explained by other sources. I hadn’t changed anything in my normal routine. My traffic was coming from the same sources in the same ratios. I hadn’t done any promoting or posting more often. I even kept the same basic blog layout, ad locations, and ad sizes. The only change to my blog want the theme I was using.
Final Thoughts on the Genesis Framework
I wish that I had discovered Genesis much sooner than I did. Even with my little blog, the increase in earnings quickly paid for the cost of Genesis. I paid $60 for the theme. In the first month after installation, my blog income increased by $44. Then, the second month brought in $73 more than I had made prior to installing Genesis. $117 in 2 months! The $60 it costs me doesn’t seem like anything after realizing what it brought me. I wholeheartedly believe any blogger, big or small, should be running their blog on the Genesis Framework. If all of the features are used correctly, it is a gold mine!
If you decide to use Genesis on your blog, please keep track of your results before and after. I would love to see how much more traffic you are getting, and money you are making. If you are already using it, please share your experience as well.
