How Much do Younique Presenters Make?
If you have ever looked into direct sales as a way to make money from home, you may have come across Younique Cosmetics in your search. If your like me, you want to know all of the ins and outs and possibilities before signing up for something like this. Well, I’m here to break it all down for you. I have a degree in business and accounting so there will be a lot of number crunching. Are you ready?
The first thing you need to know is that Younique is considered a multi-level marketing company, or MLM. This is not a dirty word, I swear. It’s not a scam or a pyramid scheme. This simply means that the business is built on a presenter selling the product, recruiting others to sell the products, training those people to do it well and training them to train others. So, you get compensated for the fact that you have built a successful team. The catch is, for you to be successful, your team needs to be as well. It’s not about getting people to buy in and leaving them to struggle on their own.
On to the Compensation Plan
Younique has a two part compensation plan/ pay chart. The first shows you what you have to do to become a certain “color” level and the other shows you what percentage of royalties you earn at each level. I’ll use these to show you the minimums amount of money you will make at each color level.

How Much Money Can You Make as a White Status Younique Presenter?
White status is very simple. You automatically become a White Status when you join. You make 20% of whatever you sell. If you join just for the discount for your own products, that means you get a 20% discount. The only requirement you must meet as a white status is to sell $125 in a rolling 3 month period to stay active with the company. If you divide that up by the 3 months, you are selling a minimum average of $41.67 each month. This makes your commission $8.33 each month.
Here is the math:
$125/3 = $41.666666
$41.66666 x 0.2 = $8.33
How Much Money Can You Make as a Yellow Status Younique Presenter?
To become a Yellow Status, you must have a total of $1000 in lifetime sales and of course, remain active. This brings you up to a 25% royalty level on everything you sell. Once you make it to Yellow, you will never make less than 25%. If we use the same minimum requirement we did with White Status, you can see the absolute minimum you will make as an active Yellow status is $10.42 per month.
Here is the math:
$125/3 = $41.66666
$41.66666 x 0.25 = $10.4165
How Much Money Can You Make as a Pink Status Younique Presenter?
If you have been telling all of your friends how great it is to be a Younique Presenter and you have has some join under you, Pink is the first level you will be able to make any kind of royalties off of their sales. FYI- This doesn’t take any money away from them.
To become a Pink Status, you must sell $250 for the month, have one qualified presenter (they sell $125 for the month), and you must have total circle sales of $2000 for the month. Circle sales are 75% of the total sales of you and your team. This could mean you and your one recruit or 10 recruits.
Once you hit Pink status, your commission is still 25% but you also will make 3% on circle sales. The absolute minimum you will make if you are being paid as a Pink status is $122.50
Here is the math:
Personal Sales: $250 x 0.25 = $62.50
Circle Sales: $2000 x 0.03 = $60
Total: $62.50 + $60 = $122.50
How Much Money Can You Make as a Blue Status Younique Presenter?
To become a Blue Status, you must sell $250 for the month, have two qualified presenters (they sell $125 for the month), and you must have total circle sales of $4000 for the month.
Once you hit Blue status, your commission is still 25% but you also will make 4% on circle sales. The absolute minimum you will make if you are being paid as a Blue status is $222.50.
Here is the math:
Personal Sales: $250 x 0.25 = $62.50
Circle Sales: $4000 x 0.04 = $160
Total: $62.50 + $160 = $222.50
Elite Status
Green status and above is considered Elite. At these status levels, the compensation plan gets a little deeper. Green is the first level you can start making a commission off of your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation’s sales.
Let me first explain the generations.
Each time someone hits Green in your downline, they and all of their recruits, break off and form a new generation. So, if you sponsored Katie, Jenny, and Monica and Monica turned Green- she and all of her downline would be considered your first generation and no longer count towards your circle sales. Once one of Monica’s presenters turned Green, she would break off with her downline and form your second generation, and so on.
Because we are talking about the minimum amount of money you can make at each color level, I will simplify my calculations to only go to these 1st generation commissions. So, I will calculate commissions from here on at the minimum required personal sales and circle sales and the rest of the sales needed to qualify for each color’s company sales will be considered 1st generation sales since they have the lowest commission percentages.
The reason I am making everything calculate to the lowest possible earnings for each level is so that no one reads this and automatically gets their hopes up. You can make a ton more than what I am showing however.
How Much Money Can You Make as a Green Status Younique Presenter?
To become a Green Status, you must sell $500 for the month, have 3 qualified presenters (they sell $125 for the month), you must have total circle sales of $2000 for the month. However, you must also have $10,000 in total company wholesale sales. This is the total sales for every single person on your team; those you sponsored and everyone below them.
Once you hit Green status, your commission goes up to 30% and you also will make 5% on circle sales. This leaves you to earn 3% on the rest of your sales that we are counting in first generation sales. The absolute minimum you will make if you are being paid as a Green status is $490.
Here is the math:
Personal Sales: $500 x 0.30 = $150
Circle Sales: $2000 x 0.05 = $100
1st Gen. Sales: $8000 x 0.03 = $240

Personal Sales: $500 x 0.30 = $150
Circle Sales: $4000 x 0.05 = $200

How Much Money Can You Make as a Black Status Level 1 Younique Presenter?
Black Status Level one is considered the Car Incentive level. This is where you receive $750 towards your car payment every month. To achieve this level, you need all of the minimum requirement to be a Black Status plus:

I love that you broke this down! I found your blog when I was Google searching for this.. of course if its too much trouble you can tell me no, but can you do an updated one of these?!
I can look into it. What needs to be updated?
this is great! thank you for breaking it down. I honestly thought black status’s earned more but still worth it!
Hi. I just saw a post on Facebook about Black Status Level 2. Can you tell me what those requirements are please? I’ve been searching online for a half hour now and can’t find a site with the details. Thank you!
Do you have a group on FB?
Sadly this is another glorified pyramid scheme. Every sale you make begins putting you out of a job. It’s sad how this company exploits women’s love for women and women’s rights to make money. Eh, there will always be suckers.
I am so sorry you see it that way. The money is not in the sales YOU make – it is in how you build and train Leaders. If you look at the compensation plan – you get paid a whole lot more on your company/circle sales than your own! Can you imagine how much makeup you would need to sell to reach the amount an Orange or Purple status presenter can earn?
Pyramid Schemes are opportunities where the top of the Pyramid (YOU) always stays at the top, and those you bring in, cannot pass you. That is NOT the case in Younique! Lauren Pipak and Carly Reeves are a testament to that. I am sure there are many more, but I do not know very many others.
Sadly people get into this business thinking they are going to make hundreds of thousands of dollars with little work. Hate to say it, but that is not true. These folks who have build million dollar legs have done so over the 4 years the company has been in business. They took the time to build wide and deep in order to have a nest egg – they have done in 3 – 4 years what regular 9 – 5ers do in 30 years. Give it a shot – take another look. Don’t count on friends and family – that is a big mistake. And before you think I am something big in Younique – I am not. I am a Yellow Status Presenter and have been so since I joined in 2015. I work this business as a hobby – but I have it to grow if I so desire and you can too. Change your mindset – watch how you blossom. If you try – you will come back here and thank me some day. I promise. Helen
Even at purple status, you’re barely making a liveable wage, and god knows how many hours you’re putting into selling at that point. You’d literally be better off getting a shitty minimum wage job at McDonald’s, or better yet, taking steps to have an actual career that doesn’t have the potential to reset every month. Major yikes!
Please keep in mind she only showed the bare minimum at each color level. Those teams make a whole LOT more than what she shows there…that is bare minimum…
Helen
Oh, how I just love that you start out by saying:
“I have a degree in business and accounting so there will be a lot of number crunching.”
Well, did you fail your degree? Everyone with a business degree, they actually passed will be able to tell you, that the only ones that are making money on the MLM business model is the ones on the top. Everyone else is loosing money.
BTW, you left out something very simpe, but extremely important in your so called number crunching… the simple fact, that for the poor souls to even be able to make MORE than $10 some a months (and most of that is coming from what they spend themselves, to even keep their yellow status), they HAVE to recruit new people and hit a certain number a sales EACH freaking month (not every third month, or as a lifetime sales or whatever they have been told).
These poor souls who get caught up in this shit, end up ruin their life – possibly forever.
Finally!! Thank you so much for breaking this down how you did, I feel like I looked everywhere for a genuine breakdown of Younique earning and you have done it and have made it so much easier to understand! Thank you again!!!!
What percentage of presenters are at each level? For all of the MLMs I’ve studied, less than 1 in 200 can reach a 6 figure income and only a few percent can even make a poverty-level $12,000. Does Younique publish this information?
I truly don’t understand how you can sleep at night promoting garbage like this. It honestly seems like a cult. Also, I can’t help but notice that you conveniently left out how much money YOU have to spend every month in order to have product to sell. You say that ” The absolute minimum you will make if you are being paid as a Pink status is $122.50″, but that doesn’t tell me anything about how much money actually ends up in your bank account. If you spend $300.00 per month on product you need to sell, you better sell a whole lot more than $122.50 to actually take home any money.
To anyone reading this, do not fall into this trap. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Draw out how any of these “companies” work, one person recruits three people, those three recruit three more, then those nine recruit three more, and what does that look like to you? A pyramid. You would literally be better off begging on the street. At least then you aren’t spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on garbage products that won’t sell and will end up accumulating dust in your garage.
https://www.mlmnewsreport.com/plexus-review/plexus-distributor-income-expectations/#iLightbox%5Bpostimages%5D/0
Look at the graph, and yes I know this is for Plexus, but Younique is no different. 99.24% of “ambassadors” are making less than $30k per year. There is no money to be made in pyramid schemes unless you start one. Do not fall in to it.
This article needs to have a huge disclaimer at the top that it’s really just a glorified advertisement with junk math to entice people that aren’t capable of fully researching this themselves. It’s a post by this woman trying to scam innocent people into joining her circle so she earns more passive income.
Fact… the Younique site itself says that only 0.02% of the presenters achieve decent numbers. That’s only 240 people out of the 1.2 MILLION total sellers.
There are so many things missing from these fantasy numbers. Don’t forget to pull out the tax you owe to the federal government. How about the money you owe up front for your kit? What about the money they expect you to spend out of your own pocket to attend their seminars? $2 fee to transfer your own earnings from the debit card they force you to carry (and most likely earn a percent from) to your own bank account… this is insane…
Disclaimer: I am not a Younique rep.
